When they finally visited Italy as children, it overwhelmed them — the history, the art, the food, the festas in the piazzas surrounded by everyone they loved. It was a feeling that never left them. Now, it won’t leave you.
Bringing more of Italy to Canada.
When Antonio and Lidia met in their midtwenties, they realized they shared far more than a birthday week — they shared a deep, unshakeable love for their roots. With every return trip to Italy, that love only deepened. Italy didn’t just feel like home — it was home.
After becoming dual citizens, they had a clear vision: bring more of Italy to Canada. In 2012, they opened Gentil Uomo — a gentleman’s boutique in Toronto offering shirts, leather goods, jewellery, fragrances, and grooming essentials, all made exclusively in Italy. Antonio travels to Italy regularly, sourcing from familyowned manufacturers — many in their third and fourth generation — and building relationships so close, they’ve become famiglia.
